NFL:

Saturday January 18th, The Washington commanders defeated the Detroit lions after a 45-31 win. Jared Goff threw 3int's to 1TD, Jahmyr Gibbs had 14 carries for 104 yards and 2td's in the unfortunate loss to the commanders. The commanders had a very successful game with the Washington Commanders rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels, throwing and rushing for 300yds and two touchdowns. Washingtons, Brian Robison Jr. had 15 carries for 77yds and 2TD's. The Texans lost to the Chiefs 23-14 after a handful of notably questionable calls and no calls. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Los Angles Rams 28-22 after a very good series of runs by Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts along with a great pass game. The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Buffalo Bills after coming back from being down two scores, on the 2pt attempt Ravens Tight end Mark Andrews dropped Lamar Jackson's pass on the goal line after what everyone thought was a catch.

NCAA:

The Ohio State Universities Buckeyes have won the college football national title in a 34-23 victory against the Notre Dame fighting Irish who had a very successful season, including a win against Georgia. Thankfully, Notre Dame's football team didn't walk away empty handed, reportedly they made 20 million for their school because they are and independent.

In local news, the Colorado State Rams played in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl against Miami (Ohio). Popular rap artist Snoop Dog was seen wearing Colorado state colored attire during the pregame before changing out into a bowl game themed outfit.

Unfortunately, after many offensive and defensive struggles the Rams lost 43-17. Them making a bowl game appearance is a huge stepping stone for the program and if they can continue this trend we might see them in the CFP very soon.

Hey everyone! This is Cesar Mejia a sophomore and also first year member of the Poudre press. He is currently not really involved in much this year other than the press and doing sports officiating. Things he likes to do in his free time include taking pictures of sports, playing video games, watching collegiate football and making food. This year he hopes to be able to cover a wide range of topics, not just sports to help keep members of the community and my school involved in things going on in the world, community, and sports.
